I was wondering if any type of locating service for hire is available for older model major appliances, (kind of like they have for antique furniture etc) I am looking for a nice condition Whirlpool Washer/Dryer Combination from the late 50's to the early 60's the original 33' model. This mission is all new to me and I'm at a complete loss on how to proceed
If anyone has any ideas I sure would appreciate it, or if you know of someone that has one for sale. I would be very fair one the price. This was the washer/dryer my parents had when I was a kid. I only have room for one machine to collect so the combo would be my dream. The BIG plus when I kick the bucket or have to move to a smaller home or assisted living, it will be willed back to the original seller, if they don't it want it back, I would like it to be given to one of the club members that would give it a good home. At NO COST to them. This may seem a little nuts but my concern is that my estate would junk it, and that would be a real shame, most people don't understand the connection we all seam to have in common. My phone number is 612-845-7599 or my E-Mail is [email protected] Many Thanks for your help. Kenny

Only one Whirlpool combo is known to exist and the owner is also the owner of this site.

Best wishes finding a second one!

i havn't seen one in person since 1979;a lady gave me an rca-
whirlpool combo to strip for parts(i was 10 at the time,
friendly paperboy helped me get it home LOL)lady said it was
18yrs old,so Ca.1961,she said it would not spin-problem was
there was a little gearmotor with a spool on it that wound
up a cable to move a double sided varible sheave pulley to
spin ratio-the cable was broken.
This was one of the most interesting machines i have ever
seen, belts and pulleys galore behind!,solenoid actuated clutch
to engage the blower(at least as i remember),big 8-spoke drum
pulley, black bakelite turbine pump on front of motor, and as
i remember a calrod immersion heater in the tub.
Motor was a 1/2 HP G.E.
Naturally,i would not make the same mistake today and would
love to see and hear one of these operate today!
