does any one remember the whirlpool of the 60`s or 70`s having long spray rinses,i just remember as a kid that whirlpools had long sprays,or was it my imagination?

Most Whirlpool and Kenmore washers of 60's and 70's vintage had four intermittent 7-second spray rinses over the course of a two, three or four minute spin between the wash and the rinse. The final spin had two or four more 7-second spray rinses, depending on whether the timer dial incremented once every 60 or 120 seconds.

Short Spin Spray Rinses

My 1964 Kenmore 800 has the traditional four spin sprays during the post-wash & post-rinse spin. However, it's only about three seconds long. Is that typical? It seems very short to me. Can this be fixed and/or changed or is it normal for this year machine?
