Last night when i was trolling through ebay i found a miele set i have wanted for a little while now - the best part was it was only 30 mins away and it was only $50 for the pair with a stacking kit!

Question time now!

I have not yet fully tested the set yet but i did fully vacuum the dryer out and whip the washer over - both were dirty and the dryer was a fire hazard inside!

My Questions are:

The dryer makes a squeaky when it stop and turns the other way which does fade in a little time then when it stop the sound come back and goes away agin??

I did try to do a fill with the washer and at first the water was coming in fine then the water was only dribbling in - the min wash part only the pre wash part was fine - dont worry i check my tap. After about ten mintues of dribble fill the machine would stop and drain and flash fines ( i think)

any help would be much loved!

Dryer probably will have any bearing issue... Just that i'm rigth, when it gets warm, ist works fine, if its cold, it squeaks?
The washer will probably have a dirty detergent compartment or broken magnetic valves. Would remove the dryer, take the top of the washer, take the compartment out and as far apart as possible. Then place it (without any seals or pipes on it!) in a nice bath of warm water and citric acid over night. This will remove any calc. Then place it in a dishwasher, start a 60° wash and the thing will be done. If that still does not help, you will have to change the magnetic valves.

Bearings where do I go from there?

Also the washing machine seems fine when I first start the cycle then gradually through the cycle the water pressure in the main wash part of the draw drops?

Spin cycle

Hi again,

I have noticed that the washing machine during spin cycle is louder than I would expect but I don't think the bearing are worn?

Washing machine noise

Sometimes it is the motor bearings. I have had a w828 with tired motor bearings. Very cheap to replace also much easier than replacing the tub bearings.

Slow Incoming Water

Sounds like the cold water valves may need replacing, at least that was the source of the problem with our Miele.

The cold water valve is a triple thiny IIRC and if you are handy can be a DIY job, just order the part from Miele OZ. You'll need your the model number and perhaps the serial code.

Water valves can also become gunked up with mineral deposits if the local water is hard.

when turning the dryer by hand it only makes a rumble sound (not the normal quiet sound ) when turning anti clockwise?

I have rebuilt a triple water valve on one of these.
I had several spare valves from f&P top loaders, and Whirlpool front loaders - just dismantled each valve and swapped over the rubber diaphragm in each of the three valves in the block. (It's a three-in-one valve.) "Problem solvered."

The Miele triple valve is nothing special, the innards from many brand of washing machine valve will fit. The F&P and Whirlpool valves I used as organ donors were all single valves.

Hmm, don't know much about the dryers... I think, the drum is carried by rollers and these have bearings and these get worn over time. If you just take the font apart, there will be 2 weels a the front and these need a replacment, I think. look at the vdieo I posted. A condensor modell, but will be quiet similar to this. If there is a metal squeking noise, the felt bearing (i think there is one at the back of the drum?) may be gone.
The bearings on the washer are easy to diagnost which bearing is gone: Take the washer top off, pull the belt off and then turn the drum. If the noise is still there, your drumbearings are shot. If not, the motor bearings need replacment.
