As soon as I entered the living room, I noticed it peeking out from under a table...the only vintage appliance to be found at this particular sale!

The washer/dryer and refrigerator were also KA's from the early-90's and were way overpriced; $125 each for the washer/dryer and $200 for the fridge! Had the washer been TOL with either a rapid-advance timer or electronic controls, I would have thought about it.

Meanwhile, enjoy this 3-C!

Sounds like this last weekend was bargin shopping for alot of us.

I went to a city wide garage sale in Brazoria County, Sat. 20 yard sales, I hit 12 of them. Came home with half a truck bed full of Tiffany Lamps, stained glass, a Kitchen Magician, and just too much stuff to list. Dirt dirt, cheap too. These type of sales don't happen around here often, so I was very pleased with my haul.

I found a little something for you. Hint: It's pink, and it sucks. Runs off of a battery. I hope you like it. I only paid a quarter for it. LOL

If we can meet up this weekend, I will bring the package for you and your mom. (If it doesn't happen, I will ship it)

Sweet KA! (Is it for your Mom? :-) (Tell her hello!)

That is a very nice mixer. I would definately have grabbed it too. I have always liked Kitchenaid mixers, and they are very well built and hard to kill, even though my Grandma killed hers twice by using the wrong attachment; she liked using the whisk for everything, even dough.

Hi Carol,

Thanks for the gift; I wonder what it could be? This weekend we'll be going out to Lampasas to check out the Frigidaire stove parts lot. Soon, though, we will all DEFINITELY have to meet up and make a trip out to that appliance graveyard to see what they might have!

Scott, the Kitchen Center behind the KA was another estate sale find! It's an earlier model from the 1970's that utilizes both pushbutton and dial speed control, unlike the later "analog" Regency models which, in my opinion, are ugly and I don't really care for. Now the 1980's eletronic touchpad models on the other hand...WOW!

Pete, yes that's a Classic Plus to the left of the 3-C. I find it interesting as well that the earlier models are a bit smaller and was surprised when I put the two side-by-side; no bread dough for this one! In case some of y'all are wondering, the top handle portion is also metal and is pretty well-fastened to the base. All this time I was thinking it was plastic!

Thanks everyone; it will be fun using it this weekend!

metal handle

Matter of fact Austin, on some of these models the handle is actually metal "color" (as opposed to painted to match the mixer).
