Because of relentless pressure from my old pal Veg, we finally dragged "Her Majesty" inside to her rightful place in the Wilder kitchen. She needs a little cosmetic tweaking (don't we all, honey), but has made a world of difference to the "shear look" of the kitchen!

Glam shots to follow after the kitchen's mini-facelift is complete!

Venus

P.S. Veg: RASPBERRY, RASPBERRY , NAHH, NAHH! ;-)

Wow Venus it looks GREAT to say the least!! You must be so thrilled everytime you walk into the kitchen. Congrats again! Have you baked a pie in it yet?

The Shear Look arrives in the Wilder kitchen!!

Looks great in your kitchen Venus! Whats for dinner?I may have to come down to Bellville sometime and see that stove,as I have friends in Austin TX. anyway. (:

I'm sure you'll REALLY enjoy an oven door that closes and a thermostat that keeps the correct temperature!

Ohh Venus

What stove envy I have! It looks terrific in your kithen! I love that Charcoal!
Those are glam shots already , when does the peach pie come out?
I cooked on Greg's at the convention and loved the controls, it worked like a charm.
Enjoy Jet

How do you like your Jet Away Coffee? Mine doesn't make very good coffee so I use my C-50 everyday. I must be doing something wrong or it needs to be adjusted.

I love, love, love the look of Frigidaire ranges from this era. Very sexy. And those wide-coil burners are so cool. A gorgeous addition to your kitchen, Venus!

Sheepish Full Disclosure: One of my chores as a kid was to scrub the ovens on our 1967 36" Kenmore range. WEEKLY. My Mom (an Italian import) cooked all the time and insisted on having a gleaming oven. To this day I won't have a manual clean range in my kitchen, no matter how beautiful. Just mentioning this brings back the scent of Degreaser and Comet. Shudder.

Venus,

The range looks beautiful, Is it the dark charcol almost black color? That's what I thought when if was still sitting on the pallett. The turkey is going to really turn out great this year. Gald you got it in now, you have a few weeks to learn how this one cooks.

The Queen and I

Thank you all for your kind words! This has been quite an undertaking. We have been planning a minor re-do for the kitchen for quite some time now. Some new countertops, new sink and fixtures, a little paint, and new flooring will go a long way. The CI is the jewel of the kitchen. You just can't help but beam when you walk in there. We still have a ways to go, so it will be awhile before I post some new pics.

For all of you that think that I will be turning out delicious pies, cakes, and turkeys....keep your fingers crossed! I only hope that my cooking woes were the result of the bad seal and thermostat on the Whirlpool and not my lack of culinary talent! LOL

Mike: The charcoal is really what I would consider black (heck, but what do I know?). We have a black Bosch dishwasher that looks terrific with it. Supposedly, in the household where the range came from, there was a matching dishwasher and refrigerator. Sadly, they were either sold or disposed of before the stove was purchased.

Fred: As far as keeping her clean...you know what they say, "EZ Off makes oven cleaning easier." (let's hope the advertisers were right or I'll be scrubbing with the Comet myself - OY)

Ben: She is still looking for her "King". Now that I think about it, someone I know has a sweet vintage stainless Frigidaire in their possesesion......;-)

Jon: The Jet-O-Matic is superb! I have one made for Amway and the one in the pic is a Saladmaster. They are both manufactured my M.H. Graham Corp., but are slightly different. One lights up when finished, the other one goes out when finished. I change them out with the Coffeemasters for my daily brew. I like 'em 'cause they're idiot-proof! You plug it in and it "takes off". What I have noticed, however, is I have to add more coffee to get a stronger brew. If I make six cups, I put eight cups worth of ground coffee in the basket. Perfect coffee every time!
