I guess this fits in this Forum section, being as the featured items are on the edge of vintage...

This ad from Parade was mentioned in the last few days.

oooooooo Glenn...........

Glenn, I saw that ad a few days ago in our paper here. Who wouldn't LOVE to have the KA dishwasher and the TOL washer????? Little do they know what junk they're replacing these beauties with! Mark

I cut out that ad too:

I had to look twice when I saw it. It would be like a dream come true to find this stuff at the curb. A harvest gold electronic Whirlpool washer and avacodo Kitchenaid Superba. In what appears to be such clean condition too.

The dishwasher may be a Patrician. An Imperial would ordinarily have a timer dial. Or it may be a slightly-Photoshopped rendition. I'm betting those were selected for the ad for the "outdated" colors!

Yeah...I will never

understand replacing perfectly functioning appliances merely on the basis of outdated colour. Unfortunately, I know such people.

That may have been one reason why Ma always insisted on white appliances. The only coloured appliance I knew her to have bought was our second dishwasher, and the black front was the standard.

It's called planned obsolesence

companies trying to convince people to spend money on new stuff so they can make more money. This is a problem because it creates and promotes instability in our society.

KA dishwasher

I'm betting that it is a superba as I had one that I had purchased at an applance store in Norfolk Ne. and moved it to
Lexington Ne. and had it built in. It had been a portable and the front of it looked just like the one in the picture on of the best dishwashers we ever had.
