Our Hobart Superba KDS19 has a small leak coming from the top of the motor. It is fine mist leak on the top of the motor when something plastic (impeller?) is spinning.
Is it possible for me to fix this leak? I am not an expert! This forum's members have helped me twice before to keep our dishwasher going.
I have parts and repair manuals. Parts and repair advice welcomed. There are lots of washers and gaskets listed above the impeller on the parts diagram. It's rather intimidating to me. Thank you support members.

You need a seal and impeller kit.

CAUTION!!

When disassembling, you will come across spacing washers on top of the drain impeller (properly spacing of the wash impeller) and washer(s) under the drain impeller (proper spacing of the drain impeller). Carefully remove these and separate them so they don't get mixed up. If they are mixed up or lost, you WILL have a leak and require the impossible to find gauges for proper spacing. When reassembling, install the washers back in the same exact locations and orientation. Doing this will allow you to skip the spacing process.

Thank you for the advice and cautions. I have ordered the part. I will strap on my courage and give it a try to do the repair. K

Good news and Bad news:
I installed the new parts today and it did not leak. I felt pretty accomplished.
However a problem occurred and the pump started making an alarming sound during a second test cycle. I canceled the cycle.
The water would not pump out. I investigated...and the key nut on the top impeller had shifted. I know I did not install the spacers in the wrong order per your warnings. I put the key nut back in alignment and (leaving the spacers in place) re-tightened the screw on top of the impeller.
Put it all back together but now I am afraid to re-test.

Not sure what is wrong, but I think I am giving up
What should I do?

The key washer?

Make sure the key washer is properly indexed, it may have not been indexed or seated properly and shifted. The impeller retaining screw should not have backed off, it may have been loose or became loose if the key washer shifted.

It's probably fine now that everything is lined up and tight. If all of the parts in the proper order as pictured in the scans I posted, you won't hurt it.
