Looking for 1950 Westinghouse Washer/Dryer

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

They're not unobtanium. An AW member just got one. I warned him about lint buildup under the drum. What we DON'T know is how much work went into acquiring it.

I know how much work went into acquiring it . . .

Because I helped:  A round-trip drive of over 900 miles, cash for the dryer, along gasoline and meal expenses.

It's a 1952, but it's safe to assume that not a single member here would ever set foot in the Bush home so nobody who passes through there would likely know the difference.  With all of that time, effort and expense, I think it's safe to assume the dryer would not be given away for free, so the year of manufacture is moot anyway.

Thanks for the comments. I did not realize they are this rare. We are looking only for a set that is in good exterior condition. They do not have to be in working condition nor do they even need most interior parts. We are a small privately run, non-profit museum, not owned by the Bush family nor any government agency. If a set is found I will discuss the possibility of purchasing the set with our Board.

Thanks again,
Paul St.Hilaire
