Once you get a big, full-featured GE with a butter conditioner, it will have been well worth the wait.
You might want to consider any color, then have a local custom paint & body shop recreate the coppertone including the shaded edges.
Regarding the dishwasher, there's a recent thread with pictures of a modern (perhaps Bosch) dishwasher that was outfitted with the entire front panel from the vintage GE that it had replaced. I think this was relatively easy to accomplish because the new machine had the controls on the top edge of the door. I'll try to locate it.
