hi there every one . i have a 1980's inglis superb plus model uo-44680 serial number 1bf19227 and i am looking for the metal outter tub as mine has got some bad rust through and a spin tube as mine has got some groves worn into it . any information would be very much appreciated ,

I have the exact same one .

That’s the same machine I have . I recently restored mine . Your best bet would be to find a donor machine . Try a used appliance dealer . They may even have an old spin tube laying around . Hickeys . You may have to resort to unorthodox ways to fix the outer tub . Mine had bad rust around the drain port and I ended up threading a plastic pool hose adapter to it and making a makeshift pin catcher before the pump . Macgyverism can be your best friend

Pretty sure they would

They probably will . It depends on the top lip of the outer tub . My inglis superb plus from 1980 has the old style straight up tub lip and my 1988 inglis niagara has the newer style tub lip that curls over

Born in 1986...

According to the records I have, your machine is a 1986 model. The spin tube could be a few different varieties as I wasn't able to locate your exact model number but looking at a different Inglis produced in the same year, the Inglis PN is 20056848 which subs to Whirlpool number 383928 or 285896.

This is the shorter version for later models. Whirlpool switched from the older, long spin tube to the short one in the late 1970's I believe but Inglis continued using it several years later, well into the 1980's. So, I'd measure it and confirm if its the short version or long version before ordering. Short version is somewhere around 13" and long is 18.5" I believe. Both were common parts so you should still find whichever one you need around.

As for outer tub, you'd either have to find a donor machine or restore the one you have if it is salvageable. Chances are slim to none you'd find a new one of those sitting on part shelf somewhere.

Maybe take some picture of your outer tub and post them. Some of the experts here might be able to give you an opinion if its salvageable or not.

Good luck and keep us updated on your progress
