Help Support :

VintageK, yes check ebay, i just looked night before last they had a stainless tub SQ, Kenmore and also a square maytag with the pump. I was tempted with SQ, it was in Bourinasse (sp) Illinois. I do remember it had no bids and ended in 7 hours. It may be relisted.

Vintagekitchen, The SQ is over in shoppers square. Sorry about messing up the name of the city.

Kevin,

This past spring (2013) I picked up a 1962 Whirlpool wringer with a straight vane agitator for $40.  It was located about 30 miles south of me, and it's a full skirted pump model.  If we were closer I'd sell it to you in a heartbeat.  I bought it to rescue it from a date with the recycler.

I have three wringers......

I might be willing to part with two of them too....Too bad I live in western ny state... kind of far from KY though... Feel like a roadtrip? I would just LOVE to find a Visi-matic like the one shown here anybody got one for sale near me?

I

have a friend in Oneida, NY who has quite a few Maytag wringers and a nice all white Whirlpool Visi Matic for sale at his shop. Let me know if you may be interested.

Jim

Hi Jim.. Can you tell me more about the Whirlpool wringer he has for sale... I have been looking for one for a long time...

Surgomatic

The Whirlpool version has a cooler, less weird, "more normal" --whatever THAT is, LOL !-- moniker than the Kenmore Visimatic: It's called the Whirlpool Surgomatic, and indeed has a Surgilator. Have only seen one or two pix, never in the flesh, and forget exactly what the wringer is like, although it is open like the Visi; also, the machine is full-skirted with bells and whistles similar to the Visi's.

If anyone can find a pic or if Jim can get us a pic of the one in Oneida, that would be wonderful. No one in the club has one or even had one, as far as this Wringer Man knows. Please come forth if otherwise.

May I show you fellow wringer dudes what I did to my Maytag a few weeks back, without starting a new thread?

Show us please Mike!!

I will ask Chris to send me a pic of the Whirlpool and I will post it. In fact, I may have one on my phone...will look tomorrow. It is white with a white "drain board" on the open wringer. Looks so very similar to the Kenmore. It needs a new propeller in the pump which Chris has but has not installed as of yet and a new hose. It is very clean. Not sure about the agibitator tho. Mike will know more about that than I. If I don't have pics will have some in a few days and post.

Looks like a st8 vane agibitator to me. The date is wrong on these pics. They were taken late fall of 13.

So well preserved.

WOW ! Twins ! -- maybe not identical, but definitely fraternal. It's a Surgilator, although the lighting and the angle obscure the true glory.

The panel is a bit narrower. Betting that they ( the wringers) came in chrome on the TOL.

Thanks, Jim. Be nice if at some point we could get a close-up of the control panel.

I'll get the Maytag Mod pix up tomorrow.

Interesting that the control panels are more stream-lined, in the same way that the Mark 12's are more reserved and understated than the Lady K's. Consistency of Design.
