Love Eugene's video's

I've subscribed to Eugene's channel and really enjoy his videos.

Frankly, just like others have said here I don't see any issues at all with him trying to make a living with what he's doing.

Like many have done before, if you want to know how to fix your Maytag, buy a 2nd hand repair manual, the tools and have a go!

Cheers
Leon

All Apologies

Perhaps the early AW ideology has drastically changed, I give up--Goodbye!--Joe

Good riddance Joe and thanks for the apology

It’s funny to me how someone that has been a member for less than a month (Sudster member since 10/18/2020) is talking about early AW ideology and calling a member out for posting another members username.

I’ve been a member since 2005 and don’t post here very much but I am on the site all the time reading posts, watching videos and I go to some of those wash-in events. I just want to say Eugene I’m subscribe to your channel and I love your videos and the way you speed up the fill on your videos.

Apparently no one has a problem except one random person that has not been a member for a month and has a since apologized, so take what they say with a grain of salt.

Keep it up Eugene you’re awesome!!

On another recent thread .....

he mentioned this, as if he had been a previous member from long ago:

"It has been a long time since I was a member and have no intention of reliving my past."

But yeah Jeff, if this website causes him this much anger, I wonder what the real world does to him?! sad

Not saying this site isn't real world, but I come here to get away and involve myself with my hobby to wind down. I always have a good time here and love seeing what others are doing with their appliances. If they have parts or other resources available, that is just gravy and should be looked at as added help in this quirky hobby. More power to you if you just so happen to be making a living at it!

I would like to say something here

I may not be too experienced with washers or dryers nor would I call myself an expert. But for someone like Eugene that posts YouTube videos about reviews or repairs (Especially on the older machines) I think knows what they're doing. In fact, I was VERY impressed with the restoration video on the Maytag. I didn't think someone would look at and get everything working right on a washer unless if they are a collector like most people on here and probably Eugene himself. Unfortunately for my sister, she bought a used set from a appliance shop (Probably out of business already) which the seller cleaned up the outside of it really nicely but I'm pretty sure they've never bothered touching the inside of either machine. A few days later, one of the machines already had an issue and I remembered it was really difficult for the seller to come out and fix it up since it had like maybe a 7 or 30 day warranty, something like that. They just acted like they don't really stand behind their work. That's why I wouldn't want to buy a used set, but now that I think of this. I wouldn't hesitate to call either Eugene or someone that does as good of a job as Eugene to buy either a used SQ or a used Kenmore set if I needed to.

Anyways, thanks Eugene for making these awesome videos. I've definitely learned alot from you and you're one of the reasons why I'm looking into getting a SQ TC5 and DC5 for myself. Once in a while whenever I wouldn't have much going on, I would look at some of your other videos. So thanks again for your time and effort.

WOW

The reply #1 was extremely rude.

As far as I remember, I interacted directly with Eugene only once and I couldn't be happier. He was friendly and very helpful.

Just for fun, I've watched hundreds of hours of his videos.

And yes, he's a master. Of course there are people that knows more than him. nobody knows "everything". But he's a true master and I've never seen ANY mistake on his videos.

The high speed is interesting... sometimes I speed up videos that are "normal" speed to save my time. Other times I slow down fast speed videos if there's a more important detail that I want to watch. Deal with it and learn how to use youtube's speed control. Duh!

Charging for a phone consultation... WOW, how dare him do that? What comes next? People start complaining because he's charging to repair or restore their washers? Oh wait... how dare him charge money in exchange for a restored washer he has to sell (Please understand I'm being sarcastic I totally agree with him charging, that's HIS work, it has to be respected he's not doing anything wrong).

And if Lorraine Furniture was local, I'd LOVE to have Eugene taking a look in ALL my washers and dryers to keep them always in pristine conditions. Same with other 2 other AWO members that are also masters and have all my admiration and respect.

Thought I would reach out to him about my Norge this past summer ...my brother lived in that area and I’ve past it before.. I don’t know the guy .. but whoever answered my phone call was extremely RUDE .. would not let me talk ?? Thank GOD FOR RICK he helped me get that Norge movin FOR FREE!! Why would anyone bother with him charges all that money 💰... way to much. This is a unique love of vintage machines and I would say the generous people on this site who go above and beyond helping and sharing the very beautiful stories ... who needs Lorain furniture.. I would not give him a second look 👀 very sad that he didn’t even respond to me? Oh well I know I have lots of help here for free !! Happy holidays and stay safe to all of you I am forever grateful for this site from the days of me picking up empty detergent boxes on my big wheel at age 4 to listening to all my families washers I know I am not the only one with this love.

Paulwash

When you call during business hours to chit chat about a 60 year old washing machine and don’t even have a clear question to ask, yes , I get a bit short with people. Not to sound like a greedy capitalist but I’m at work to make money. When you called (more than once perhaps?) I was BUSY. Like real paying customers in the store and the phone is lit up like a Christmas tree. Pardon me while I try and make a living instead of hearing your life story.

I’m sorry if that comes off as being disrespectful, but it’s you and 100 other people that call EVERY SINGLE DAY wanting to talk to me. I didn’t tell you to fuck off, and I didn’t hang up on you. I just kept on directing you to my website to schedule a consultation so I could speak with you during non business hours and maybe give you my undivided attention for a small $40 fee.

A lot of aw members call my shop all the time. I’m happy to speak with all of you. If you have a quick question and we can conclude our conversation in a few minutes that’s totally fine. If you have questions and you don’t want to pay for a consultation then just say it upfront: something like : “ hey I have a few questions to ask you but don’t need a consultation, are you busy ? If so, can I try you back later? Can I email you?” Just please be prepared with your questions. Write them down.

If I don’t have any customers in the shop I would be happy to chat. If my phone isn’t blowing up I’d be happy to talk. For free. Just understand that the moment my phone beeps or a customer walks in I’m going to cut you off and end the phone call within 3-5 seconds.

I’ve been in retail and dealing with customers for 20 years. I understand that there is no way to make everyone happy but I really try to. It still hurts my feelings when someone is disappointed with me or my company. Sorry.

Nothing pisses me off as a customer in a store than when the phone rings and whomever is assisting me leaves me standing there ignored while they answer questions from the caller. I'm not making this up as made up as it sounds just to say something here, but I have more than once actually gone over and hung the phone up on the salesperson and told them that I was here first with money in my hand and did they want to make a sale or not. I have no problem if they answer the phone and put the person to hold because they're with another customer or that they will call them back later, but to stand there and answer questions, ain't happening.

THE ANGER!!

I can just feel it! Perhaps you should bow out of AW for a while to wait on those hundreds of customers. You lucky boy you! Get some rest.
