Just wanted to share that as a child, young guy and grown man, I felt like a freak of nature having an interest in appliances and how they work. It was probably the only issue I KEPT IN THE CLOSET. My partner and our closest friend still think I'm a little weird.
I found this site about a year ago and LOVE IT. Check in on it everyday-usually a couple of times a day. Anyway, just felt like venting/sharing a little this AM. Hoping to meet some of you!!! Feel free to get in touch.
From St. Pete, Florida, that's all I'm saying. Have a great day. The End.

Keith:

Did it ever occur to you that spending $1500 for a new washer that you know perfectly well will have a ruined bearing or a blown control board inside of three years is what's WEIRD?

You are absolutely sane and sensible - you are interested in tried and true, lasting technology that can be bought cheaply and repaired readily.

So there, LOL!

Thank you all..

...and when I get up off the floor from laughing my ass off, I will check the dress. And back at 'Ya from across the pond. Never knew coming out of THIS closet would feel so good.

Welcome! You have come home.

You'll enjoy the trip thru dreamland (otherwise known as John's warehouse)! I've only seen it in videos so far but hope to make the pilgrimage to the Holy Land some day. BTW, did you know that John will not let anyone drive up in a empty U-Haul? LOL!

Welcome......visit a wash-in, and come join the fun......feel at home, because your fun has just begun....

if you don't have a collection yet, that is about to change....what machines interest you?

Frigidaire washers by GM and KA by Hobart.

Never had a dishwasher that cleaned like the Kitchen Aids I grew up with and had in my houses. Would KILL for a Frigidaire washer from the early sixties.

Your not alone mate. Thanks to Robert for this great site it has made a lot of us feel that we are not alone and its a great place to share our stories and pictures and chat and meet some really great people. This site has made me hold my head up high now and I tell anyone who listens and I dont care anymore lol

Hope you have as much enjoyment out the site that most of us do. Its been six years on here now for me

Jetcone sums it up

I looked at jetcones post above and I think he sums it up perfectly," Coming out of the Laundry Room is a LOT harder than the closet!! "

I came out of the closet age 13 but was still in the laundry and vacuum room until I found this site a few years back age 50 something Your not alone; Welcome

Welcome

I joined over a year ago & then attended a wash-in at Revvinkevins in Long Beach. So many of us had traveled long distances for the event including the founder Robert & his partner Fred. I met the most fascinating, intelligent, fun welcoming group of people. All of us sharing our "passion" or "Fetish" for appliances. I was mesmerized with the detail knowledge & mechanical abilities in the group. I also log in about 4 times a week & will attend another wash in some day. Enjoy, Bob..

AW.org, Is the best thing I have ever found on the WWW.  When I first found the site I was almost late for work a couple of days.  Reading all the archives takes much longer now. Welcome Quincyman. alr2903
