Magic Chef Electric Range / Double Oven

I have no idea if this is really worth anything to anyone, but I'd really like it to go to someone other than China just to be remade into cheap junk lol.

We bought this four years ago on CL only because we needed an electric range for one month. I've had it listed on CL a couple times, but it only just occurred to me to post it here. Duh lol. I had a nibble, but I think my replies must have gone into their spam folder since I never heard back.

Price is certainly negotiable.

Nothing personal, but

Sweet Mother of Pearl, where to begin with this total disaster. First of all, NOTHING Magic Chef in electric is to be desired, period. Second, those damn solid elements which were invented in the 30s because Sweden thought open coils in firebrick to be too dangerous. The trouble is, they never innovated, like we did here in America. It probably has two continuously dirty ovens, too. Letting it go to China might be good revenge for what they have done to our economy by their screwing with their currency.

Actually, Thank You!

I appreciate the feedback, and fortunately we did not spend too much money on it. I had hoped to get that back out of it, but it is what it is.

Maybe I should part it out and scrap the rest? Would any of the parts be interchangeable into better stoves?

I will be very mean and say that better stoves would not use any parts from this one. Why don't you try donating it to a charity thrift store for a tax deductible contribution.

You know it's bad when even the Thrift Store does not want it lol! I showed the guy a photo, and he said "Oh, we wouldn't be able to sell that". Lol! These really must be junk, eh?

Those Solid Burners

Oh, I forgot- you're right about those burners. They suck. No heat control. Once they do get hot, they'll boil water for several minutes after they are shut off lol. Crapola.
