washer on spin cycle

I have noticed on the older norge and badged machines that the machine drains before it goes into spin, my machine goes into spin with a full tub of water, what year did they make the switch?

magic chef 20 pound washer

having a hard time trying to download my small video that i made if you go to you tube and type in Magic chef 20 pound washer its my machine in the exact wash cycle.will keep trying to get my viedo uploaded. Mike

still trying to figure how to update my video to youtube. this machine brings back memories when I was in high school in the 70's and my foster mom was washing the clothes in her 1970's norge. stay tuned Mike
