It has been said that this is a great time for AW members and finding treasures off their wish lists. Robert is proof positive of this. Someone else also said something about every time a AW member finds something from his wish list, an angel gets her wings. If so, then there's an angel who dropped her crutches and outflew the space shuttle!

Thanks to all who gave me support and positive waves while I tried to get this.

Jeri and I brought something home...

Whatever could it be?

BTW Jeri is the name my kids gave my rig. Hey, come on, 250,000 miles is alot between a tech and his truck... LOL! Seriously, my children ever since they were little believed that naming the truck would mean that she would always get me home safe.

Winner!

Behold my 1957 E2LP wringer. I really was sweating it on if I would get her but with the incredible success of AW members as of late, I shouldn't have even worried. This belonged to my customer's ex-wife's Aunt back in New York. When she passed away, this gem made the journey to Nevada and then SAT in a barn. Now, keeping in mind the good vibes around here, how do you think it ran after unknown years in storage?

There are some things to do, however. The power cord needs replacing as the outer cover is starting to crack from age. The cabinette is in great shape but I need to clean it better and replace the logo. Are they still available? There is also small oil weeps that look like they accumulated over time. Time for more cleaning!

Congratulations Andrew on a wonderful find. That machine is a clsssic and will serve you well for many more years. For some reason the first picture that comes into my mind when I think "washing machine" is that very machine!!

But does it work?

Ahhh, the magic question! I was warned to expect some possible water from the possible dried up seals due to sitting dry for years. Maybe even frozen up and nothing will turn. Hmmmm....

Yes! First load was hot fill to check the seals. NOT A DROP! So of course I had to fire it up! MAN, this thing is QUIET! The belt is still supple and turns well. I ran it with some shop towels. Talk about whirlpool of death! The agitation on this thing is incredible. This is my first time using a wringer and WOW! I shot some video of it washing and will try to put up on Youtube for how it washes and the noise level. Maybe it'll be a touch bit quieter with a new belt...
