The future of automatic washer.org
Thank you Robert for getting the site back up and running again.
I would envision the site being taken over by a board of directors probably about six directors that initially would all invest at least one to $2000 in the site to help pay you for some of your efforts. Automatic washer.org is already a well-known website that thousands of people look at every year and come to for advice on their older appliances and it should be able to be self-sufficient with modest fees charged for various aspects of using the site advertising, etc..
At my age I’m certainly not interested in running it, but I would be willing to serve on a board of directors, some improvements in the site are definitely needed and I can see where you’ve put an enormous effort into it, and I certainly don’t blame you for not wanting to make this your only life‘s goal.
I am grappling with the same problem right now I’m thinking of making the museum here in Beltsville nonprofit and setting up a board of directors to manage it after I’m gone hopefully some of the younger members will take some of the responsibility someday. I am working with an attorney now to see how feasible this is.
Thanks again for getting this running but I do think it’s a good time to start making some plans for all of us. None of us are getting any younger.
I would like to hear anybody’s ideas about how to run this site in the future also, if anybody has any ideas for my museum warehouse project, I’d love to hear those as well. Also people that might be willing to serve on the board of the Beltsville Museum. It’s Good time to start this discussion.
Thank you everybody for all you’ve contributed to the site even though I’m pretty knowledgeable about appliances. Obviously I learn things every week on this site that has helped me in my job as well.
Happy holidays John.
