Here is the first wash in my "new" General Electric 1200. There is always some leftover cat food residue as my five feline companions don't always finish their meals.

In the Pot is yesterdays rice, hamburger and onion casserole. In the two cups are homeade fudge sauce I make in the microwave. Slighly baked on.

The two fudge cups are placed in the far corner of the upper rack over the saucepan. As the pan blocks the water spray from the lower arm, they are getting washed only by the power tower.

done! upper rack, the tupperware was bounced around a little by the power tower, as a result it looks like there is one tiny bit of something on it. All else looks clean.

oops.. one grain of rice left. (The discoloration on the bottom of the stainless pan is permanent.)

You've got a fine dishwasher there. I love the GSD series machines. They are easy on the eye, simple to load and they do their job.

Are you going to put it under the counter as a daily driver; or is it just a play thing?

Great to finally see the cleaning ability of the GSD1200. Looks like you had some decent soils in there, however I'll admit to leaving perhaps more on my plates... Especially last night after an epic fail in the fried chicken & rice department (probably two tablespoons of rice + another tablespoon of other assorted garbage!)

 

Just for the record, what cycle cleaned this load? (And to be even more picky, what detergent were you using?)

Not too shabby, considering the total amount of food it had to deal with.

I almost always use the Potscrubber Cycle. Finish Powerball is the detergent I used, Washer 111.

Olav, I am thinking about swapping it out for my daily driver, but not sure yet. I swap dishwashers so much that the underside of the kitchen cabinet is all chewed up from upper mounting screws.

I have a Maytag Reverse Rack, that I really love, in the main kitchen right now. It means carrying the GE upstairs, and carrying the Reverse Rack downstairs and it weighs a ton. I was barely to lift it up the lower lever staircase, to the kitchen, when I installed it the first time this summer. So maybe one day when I a not feeling lazy I may swap the two out for awhile.

Who doesn't like the PreWash - Rinse - Rinse - Long Wash - Rinse - Rinse - Long Rinse cycle with a little extra heating for good measure of the Potscrubber Cycle?

 

I suppose its O.K. if you wanted to hear GE wash action for around 74 minutes! (Equivalent to my DD running the Normal cycle, and cancelling when drying starts)

Well I am inpressed that is clean.Do you put the Finish Tab in the closed dispenser or in the bottom of the tub ?

I put the tab in the covered dispenser so it gets released in the main wash.

Barry, if you had put detergent in for the prewash that would have gotten rid of that one grain of rice.  The only time I used both cups was when I used PotScrubber.  I would say that definitely resembles the types of loads I used to put in mine.  But I'd also put a mixing bowl or small sauce pan over the flatware basket too.  I have been known to feed a pan of rice (that got stuck to the bottom (between 1/2 and 1 cup of cook stuck on rice I couldn't get out without severely scraping the bottom of the pan) during cooking) to my Kenmore Elite TT.  Ya should have heard the food grinder on those loads lol.   And washer111 this model does not have the extra long final rinse.  It's only about 4 mimutes long at the most.  BobLoad  certification to the highest order.  I get all tingly when I see that kind of load put in a dishwasher and the GE kicks butt!!!

Hey, I finally got BobLoad certified!! That is a nice Christmas present.

I agree Bob, detergent in the prewash would probably have gotten that pesky piece of rice.

I love the dishwasher (challenge), especially in the older machines. I am impressed with the performance of the wash tower since it was doing all the work on the mugs. Keep them coming, Bob...
