I've finally started making some vids for YouTube.

1st up: 1981 Lady Kenmore Portable

Coming after:

1962 Hoover 0510
1980 Maytag A50
1971 Hoover Auto-Rinse
1974 Hoover T1003 (OLD VHS footage found)

Enjoy

1st video is up.

Nice vid Thankyou! I had one those (basic model) back in my apartment days. They spin like demons, prolly to help out the 110v. dryer. I had long and dependable service with it. When i bought my first house i sold the set, the ones i had were "harvest". Have fun with it! alr2903

OOOH such memories. I had that one too. Neighbors were moving and put the set on the street. Snatched the washer right up.

Left he dryer out on the street as I had only 110v 30a service in my apt and using half of it for an electric dryer was not a good thing. I bought a full sized GE gas dryer!

Nice machine even with a tiny 10 pound (4.54kg) capacity.

Capacity

I live alone with a temporary roomie, and this machine is my "full size" machine. I'm used to portable machines, twin-tubs and the occasional Haier mini-matic, so this machine is a brute. This little guy can take all that I can throw at it, and the cycles are fairly quick. Neutral drain is rediculously long though. If they made a portable filter-flo set I'd be in heaven! It's actually NorfolkSouthern's fault with his little Harvest Gold Whirlpool model ;) but I got luck and got this set about 4 blocks away on CL for $100. Dryer is in GREAT shape as well although I'm not a fan of the lint filter arrangement.

Currently it's in the basement hooked up as a permanent set with the matching dryer. They're really cute sitting side by side like they are now, but I want them in the kitchen with the stack unit, but the stackers are kinda pricey for what they are. I'm ordering a new fridge and it's only 21 7/8" wide so I can fit these (stacked) next to the fridge. The basement is a pain to get to with a loaded laundry basket. I've already ran the CPVC plumbing up and the drain, just need the stacking kit, which I'm told will still work with this set.
