How Sad...

I never thought I would live to see the day that I felt ashamed to call Iowa my home town state. (And, yes, I realize that these few posters are not representative of all Iowans.) I think of Iowans as level headed, common sense, fair minded people like Ann Landers, Abigail Van Buren, Johnny Carson, Harry Reasoner, etc.

What the news station fails to point out is whether this was a homophobic/hate motivated crime or just a bar brawl. It doesn't appear that the media even investigated that angle. If this was a homophoic/hate motivated crime I think it's very sad that it wasn't brought up in the article. And, it doesn't appear that the idea even entered the minds of the bloggers.

As I suspected, it's a strip-club not a gay bar. Regardless, it's a tragedy when someone loses their vision due to their own stupidity. As one poster mentioned on the news blog, "hello Darwin!"

Now I have been to a gay bar in Sioux City - the gay bar - now closed. It was a lot of fun, a lot of stares and curious looks for a while but then the horny kicks in and you're the center of attention ;-)

Sad. Especially when avoidable.

If the instict of males is to dominate/kill/maime other males such that the female will choose him (by default?), then straight guys should learn to hang with gay guys who have (generally) zero interest in playing "Hide the Salami" with the females. Problem solved.

This is a shame, not only he was blinded in one eye,
but now he is totally blind because the Dumb Ass went for his only good eye!

Maybe they should of left the gay bar open and closed this knife and gun club. BUT NO, that would not of worked its named "Mavericks". Sorry the man lost his last eye at the same beer joint.
