Ok, lets put together a master list of the laundry appliances
that were made by parent companies. This would settle some questions in my mind, and I hope others too, who made what.
I will leave it to someone else to type the format, someone
more computer savy than myself. The information maybe in a
chart that tells: Parent Corporation Manufacture
Whirlpool Kenmore
Westy??
Norge Norge
Western Auto Wizard
Does anyone follow what I'm saying?
There were so MANY different washers in the 1950's & 1960's that competition was so stiff. Good heavens, I think of Penn Crest, Thor, Western Auto (Wizards), Signature, Blackstone, etc.
How ironic now that General Electric now owns Whirlpool, not
even to think of all the international subsidaries that have
now gotten into the business (in the US market). It just boggles my mind who bought out who, who quit, who survived, and
who will win. Lets get a good chart going. Anyone??
For those of us who are twinkies, under the age of 40, this might be educational too.
