Hey everyone, my friend has the classic Maytag set with the light up panels and the dryer (806, I believe) has the electronic control settings. The issue we are having is that about 10 minutes after turning on a load to dry, the bell goes off indicating they are done, which obviously they are not. She has to keep returning to turn on the machine until they are dry and we're trying to figure out what may be wrong as we've heard these machines are indestructible. The dryer definitely gets warm but we're not sure if it may be the sensors are bad or is it possible this thing is stuck in a damp dry cycle? I know I am sure I haven't supplied enough information so please let me know what else I should be looking for - her husband is getting very frustrated but she loves these vintage avocado machines and they are cosmetically in great condition. Thanks so much!

If they use fabric softener sheets in the dryer it’s possible that the sensors are coated with residue from these fabric softener sheets.

Try cleaning them off by rubbing a paper towel dampened with rubbing alcohol over them several times. I’ve had this work for me in the past when and dryer with auto dry sensors was turning off before the load was dry.
HTH,
Eddie
