Maytag 241c electric dryer wiring problem

I have a matching set of 49 maytag automatic washer and dryer. Doing complete restore on both machines. I've replaced all seals and tranny on washer now I'm having an issue with dryer. It shocks you when it is plugged in and running, unit heats and cycles timer moves just need a copy of wire harness because whomever had these before me unhooked a couple wires and left them
In the bottom of machine and now there's no unhooked wire terminals everything appears to be wired up but still zaps you when plugged in. Any info would be greatly appreciated. The model is 241c I'm also looking for the bulbs that go in dash besides the neon tubes. Thank you

SHOCKING MT DRYER

First thing is your dryer should be grounded. No one should ever plug in any major appliance that is not grounded. [ you could be killed ] That said one of the most likely shorts on electric dryers is the heater element and usually a close visual inspection will reveal the fault. I am sure that someone can come up with a wring diagram, I didn't have a chance to look up your model # but your machine is closer to a 1959 than a 1949, but in any event a great project be sure to post pictures.

If it helps, I had a similar issue with a dishwasher - I was getting zapped when the machine was running.  I had indavertently reversed the polarity on the timer supply and it was leaking current - when I changed position of the wires running to the timer, it fixed the polarity and the shocks stopped.

ok took timer out of dryer it was made in 59 pics will be coming soon does anyone know where to find a service manual would love to find one online but would be willing to pay for it just so i can trace wires properly, I also found out what was shocking me it was the little bulb socket aove the dial it was shorted out. after i removed it the dryer no longer heats up ive checked the elements and tstats also cleaned contacts in timer still no heat.

I actually had a dryer once which would not heat without a bulb in the socket. Dont remember the type though.... You might try installing a new seocket, or trace the 2 wires. If the current passes through them to get to the element, its a simple matter of connecting the 2 if you dont want to replace the socket.

DRYER LIGHT IN SERIS WITH HEATER?

That would be impossible because you couldn't get enough current through the filament in the light bulb to run the heater even in a portable dryer. And if you connect the two wires together going to the light bulb in any dryer you will create a direct short that will either trip the circuit breaker or worst yet in the case of a 240 volt dryer on a 30 AMP breaker you may damage any wiring and switches in the light circuit.

i know it doesnt make sense, but every time i tried to use it with the bulb removed it wouldnt heat. I dont even remember the make, but i do remember it occasionally giving me a nasty shock, and burning out heating elements fairly often. All contributing reasons to why i sent it to the scrap heap.
