I have an old wonderful maytag A207 washer. Alas the cold water valve gave out on me a while back. I got a replacement water valve, pulled the little panel, carefully swapped the wire leads over and the water feed to the washer. I put it all back together, stood it up and voila! nothing. I get nothing out of the washer now, not a click, not a buzz, nothing. I tried putting the old valve back in (it's a dual valve, hot and cold in the same unit) and again nothing. Did i kill it? and how? can anyone help me?

is it possible the wiring went on to the valves wrong and you mananged to blow a house fuse or pop a breaker?

In other words is the outlet/power-point still providing power?

If nto that, perhaps turnig it over caused the main power cord(flex) to become loosened from the machine's wiring?

sort of sounds like a crossed wire.. im so bad with wires i even have to write it down as i take them off so i get them back in the right slots.. i did the same thing with my tag 2 years ago and it was a crossed wire

Sounds really silly, but did you turn the water back on again to the machine? Do you get a subtle hummm? It happened to my aunt who has a 140 IQ and very mechanical, but just forgot, when she changed hoses to her washer, to actually turn the water back on.
