I am doing great with them....better with the Maytag than the Hoover, and by that I mean the Hoover now kicks ass, and you have to leave the lid closed while in use.......by design the Maytag has the little horizontal shield which keeps the water in a tidal wave.......
yes, I used windshield washer hose, a small piece of hard tubing used for vacuum lines of a car, and a dab of superglue......this is under a little more tension than the original flopping around, and it does give a nice vigorous wash, too loose and it will flop off the pulleys.......I was also thinking of using air line for an aquarium, a bit smaller in diameter to fit lower into the pulley......
but otherwise, I have been running them a few times a week, and so far no problems.....an inexpensive fix for the most part, but remember to measure with the new hose, and then take off about 1 - 2 inches to create a tension...
