Hello All:

Here I am with my hat in my hand, asking if someone has a part once again -

I am in need of one of the threaded rods that holds the motor in an A806 together - this is the long threaded rod that also serves as the mount for the plastic motor shield.

What has happened is that the motor shield on my new A806 was broken, so I got a new shield and tried to remove the nut on the rod so that I could mount it. Weeeelll -

The rod came out of the motor, and the nut will not repeat not repeat NOT come off it - it has corroded fast to the rod and Will. Not. Budge. I have tried penetrating oil, CLR, Naval Jelly, heat, force and language that would get this thread moved to the DL forum if I were to repeat it here.

Does anyone have a junker motor that they would be willing to sell the rod from? This is an EARLY (June, 1968) A806, with the old-style motor.

Thanks in advance for any help anyone might be able to give -

Motor Part For A MT Washer Motor

Sandy I am sure I would have the part you need but they do vary in length a little, it would either be helpful to know the length needed or which motor your washer has, MT sourced motors from Emerson, Westinghouse and GE for your year A806, John

John:

Bless youse!

I will measure the motor rod this evening and PM you. I have a job interview today (promotion, which in our organization requires a re-interview), so I'm wildly busy getting ready.

Many thanks! This has been the biggest little stumper I've ever had with a vintage appliance. Such a small thing, yet such a huge hassle.
