happy new year to all the fellow club members. I have hit the jackpot again We had an elderly lady buy a new washing machine her old on is the A806 pics to follow soon in pristine shape the buttons on the control panel arn't even warn. It leaks out by the front panel slowly on the left side what could that be? Here is the delima I have the A408 that runs fine and I have a Lat9357 which needs a boot seal repair it has the orbital tranny one of the two machines has to go. which one would you give up?

The slow leak out the left side could be the fill flume/air gap thing getting mineraled up causing a slight diffusion of the spray so that it sprays onto the inside of the cabinet and runs out the front corner. On the other hand, she could need a tub seal kit.

Could also be the bleach dispenser hose.  If it were me I would strip the LAT out for the useable parts and keep the 806 & the 408.

Hell:

If you're getting a set of pristine buttons out of the deal, who cares if the machine is salvageable? There's always another 806 around in decent shape, and most of them need the unobtainium buttons.

On my first-series A806, I would probably purchase another whole machine - no matter how sickly - as a parts machine if it had minty buttons.

There are few machines prettier than an 806 of any vintage with a good set of buttons.
