A906, DE906 Maytag pair

My 50th year as a Maytager, dealer , servicer, rebuilder.I have the "Holy Grail" of collectible Maytags. 30 years ago I took in on trade the only 906's I've ever laid eyes on. I immediately rebuilt them both and stored them away. they are pristine and I would now part with them for $2000. as I'm getting ready to retire. I also have several 806's and- many other lower models in my collection some rebuilt- most not (which I would expect 150 to 300 dollars for, with some exceptions).Hey! How about a (turquoise) TE606 dryer? Or a matching Highlander pair that I rebuilt.Ed's Deal Lafayette IN

I wouldn’t mind a Maytag highlander pair but unfortunately it’s not in my budget at the moment to have machines shipped across country but am willing to pay to have certain parts etc shipped. I am looking for is a Maytag 808 dryer console (not the console and porcelain top, just the control panel/console and ballast itself) since I am putting together a customized Maytag dryer together and want to make it a match to my Maytag A806 I picked up a month ago.

Vintage Maytag washers and dryers

Hi Ed, thanks for offering these vintage machines for sale your prices are reasonable hopefully you’ll find some interested collectors to buy some of these machines.

It might be interesting to let us know what parts you have for Maytags as well you may get some takers for the parts.

Ed, you've got a beautiful collection there.

You should post an official dedicated listing in the Shopper Square (purple) classified section so more people will see your offerings.

I have no doubt you'll sell the 906 set and many other machines.

Good luck.

captlaundry/Ed...

What model of Harvest Gold Maytag dryer is that in picture #9?
Do you know if there are any issues with it?

How often do you see Maytag 808 dryers pop up for sale in your are? Currently searching for a Maytag 808 control panel for the dryer I am putting together and customizing and such.

I haven't noticed any Maytag 808 dryers for sale in this area lately.

Is the email in your profile a current & working email?
Get back to me & let me know so I can email you.

I sent you a email. Hopefully a Maytag 808 dryer surfaces in your area so I can use the parts from the control panel to put my customized Maytag dryer together that’s going with my A806.

Gas Maytag dryer

Hello. I see you are really wanting a Maytag with a lid control panel. There is one at a local thrift store in my area. I’m not sure where you are located but I thought I would put it on here in case you’re interested.

I am located in the Southern California area. All I need is the 808 console and ballast and nothing else. If you do pick it up, I am more than willing to pay for the shipping for the console and ballast. Once I get those 2 items, I’d shouldn’t be too long before I have it up and running and finally will have a Maytag A806 set.

It may be $100 but if I am able to get those 2 things off it, I am more than willing to spend whatever amount it takes to have those items shipped. I don’t like the idea of parting out Maytags from that era but almost considered on parting out the Maytag DE306 cabinet since I took most of the wiring and parts off of it to bring back my Maytag DG306 back to life but as soon as I was offered a Maytag A806 for free, I decided to take everything apart and bring back the 306 cabinet back to life.

That’s the model of Maytag dryer that would have been paired up with my Maytag A806 when it was new back in the day but I would have to repaint it since it’s almond. Wouldn’t be able to repaint the porcelain top since spray paint really doesn’t really like to stick to porcelain enamel.

There’s currently a Maytag control panel on eBay that will fit that Maytag dryer. You could put that on when you take the 808 console and ballast off.

Not trying to pressure anyone, but it will be awhile before another Maytag 808 dryer pops up for sale and I don’t need to dryer, just the console and ballast itself.

I just need the control panel and ballast, nothing else. Once it get those 2 items, I’ll be on my way to a Maytag A806 set. Reason why I am going about putting together a customized Maytag dryer is I want something that’s fairly top of the lone but with the reliability of the bottom of the line models. Plus no Maytag Halo Of Heat made after 1966 ever came with any sort of temperature options, they only came with a 130F or 140F cycling thermostat.

I’ll send the money over to pay for the dryer and the shipping for those 2 items. Hopefully the dryer isn’t sold by then.
