Since you had water contamination to the the pulley and radial bearings, you may want to try and flush it out with 80/90 gear oil until it runs clear.

Really!??! I brought a new one because of the water contamination. I didn't get any input about the oil until today/eve. It isn't the same color oil from a new brake assy...so I thought it was a 'gone-na'

Maytag helical Drive brake assembly’s

Hi Harry, your way overthinking this, these brake assemblies nearly never fail I haven’t change five of them in my lifetime.

The oil is dirty that’s what brake oil looks like in a used brake it did not look like it has water in it.

If there is a small amount of water in it it will dry out because the brake is not sealed like a transmission.

In any case you can spend all the money you want on this or you can just put it together and it will work fine. I’m not even sure that you’ve demonstrated that either one of the bearings were bad just because they got a little water on them may or may not ruin them. The bigger problem is to figure out why water was getting in this area and to prevent it in the future once everything is freed up and cleaned.

Hope you get it going soon.

A general rule of thumb......

On Maytag brake assemblies when applied is if they sound like a semi truck hauling 40 tons that just anchored its brakes and locked all its tires making a groaning noise that can be heard blocks away then its time to add a tablespoon of oil LOL. Just kidding.

Lghh!!! I see...you guys are seasoned experts...I'm still an "as you go" kinda of guy that's why I need you all help. Thanks forever for it!!! She will be back in action by this weekend.
