I've got a black second generation Maytag Bravos dryer (the first Bravos with the filter in the front unlike the first gen Bravos and first gen Cabrios) but have a little bit of an issue with it.
It's quite new, I've used it maybe 30 or 40 times since I got it brand new in spring of 2011 but it has started doing something that concerns me. The felt pad that encircles the entire drum in the back (riding on the rear bulkhead where the hot air inlet, light, and steam nozzle are) has come unglued. I don't remember if it's supposed to be glued to the drum or the stationary bulkhead but it seems to be glued to neither at present as it turns part way with the drum then stops and holds still for a bit then starts turning again. I'm not sure if this is a problem for the machine but I will NOT risk the felt falling out and ending up with metal on metal (or paint on paint I suppose). This is my all time favorite dryer, I LOVE the way it performs and it's the only dryer WITH a window that let's me choose to dry on the Normal cycle using low heat. (I dry everything on low heat.)
Any ideas? Here's the model and serial number:
