Help Support :

It was only a matter of time...

Good news too becuase now it might come to the UK!!!

I wonder if they'll call it the Neptune Top-Loader MkII?

David

i am liking that machine!, do you really think it might come to the uk? i have always wanted a top loader ever since i stayed over in flordia and there was one in the villa.

Cabrio-oasis-bravos in the UK

I would hope it does - it might even do well in the EU energy ratings (or at least better than the conventional top loaders). I suppose it depends on whether Whirlpool/Maytag produce a 220/240v model, and whether they think there will be market demand - perhaps we should email Whirlpool UK or Maytag UK?

WOW

its like a cabrio cousin! nice lookin' machine they have their, I hope its "dependable" LOL, its nice one thing i noticed in the photo is you can choose 'auto' water level or manual thats a plus. Im sorry to say but I would choose it over my favorite Whirlpool cabrio because of this feature. A great way whirlpool can compete with itself. Um last time I checked WE ALL pretty much can decide how much water we want to use yea! who knows maybe whirlpool might put that feature on the next set of cabrio HE's hmmm. ;)_

Vintagesears, I hate to burst your bubble, but the control panel photo does not match what's in the photo galler. The control panel shown is that intended for the washer WITH the agitator. The only one on the web site, as well as owners manual, is the machine that's HE and uses the invizible agitator.

Remember that F&P and Whirlpool have a technology sharing agreement, it's probably the same machine essentially.

And when did F&P move away from BSH front loaders to Beko?

appnut your right...

Well my bubble burst for sure! :( after looking closely I would agree that the control panel is from there agitator model. however they (maytag) put it in the photo gallery with this HE model they sure fooled me compare the photo of the control panel with the one of it with the lid up and clothes in it (the one photo before the control panel) after i looked i see what you mean :( well it almost made my day lol! well at least FISHER & PAYKEL's aquasmart let you choose that option.

No Copying by F&P

The Whirlpool machines are based on F&P technology, with joint development of the original design by F&P and Whirlpool.

I guess that makes it a US-NZ designed machine.

What I find amazing is the US obsession with a metal top, and heavy guage cabinet. All domestic machines have had plastic tops, some even lids, since the late 80's. It might feel light and flimsy, but its never affected longevity, or the machines ability to manage OOB loads.

Is the Atlantis/Atlanta dead?

As someone noted earlier it looks like proper Maytags are gone - no sign of the Atlanta/Atlantis-type machine on the Maytag site...just rebadged Whirlpools.

A sad time....

Wow. It was weird to go to the Maytag site only to see Whirlpool products. It's truly the end of an era. Again. I would imagine this is how people felt when they first saw the product brochures for "Frigidaire" appliances in 1980---only to realize they were White Consolidated products.

I realize the new Whirltags are probably of higher quality than the Maytag washers of the last 7 years, but.....it still seems weird.

Aquasmart

Has anyone heard much about the Aquasmart? I havent heard much about it at all. Choice magazine tested it and gave it a good write up but said nothing at all about the different mode of operation. Typical of Choice magazines tests that are getting rather pathetic and tell you not much at all these days.

The Beko frontloaders I guess are cheaper that Italian made machines and Fisher and Paykel is loosing a lot of sales to front loaders as our drought gets worse.

I looked at the new Maytag webpage and was amused by the Centenary line of washers. What better way to celebrate 100 years of Maytag than with rebadged Whirlpools. I still think that Whirlpool could of come up with a unique agitator for these models.
