Does anybody know whether the Maytag Commercial Grade residential top loader washer,
as sold at Lowes, is any good? Any experience, opinions? It was tough trying to track down warranty info, some places said 5 year parts and labor, and a further five years on the drive and tub, but on the Loews site it states a one year warranty on parts and labor, and then a ten year extension for the drive.

Go read this thread!!!

Based on the linked thread, it seems the Maytag Commercial Grade washer is not a good bet for the money.......It is Model #MVWP576KW listed on lowes website. What is odd is, the Lowes model has only a one year parts and labor warranty with the ten year drive warranty while the same
"commecial grade" model (but slightly different model number) on Maytag's site carries a five year parts and labor warranty with the drive ten year extension. So, it appears you lose four years of the parts labor warranty by buying at Lowes. Seems sketchy to me.....why the difference in warranty....especially given that the Maytag website says the apparently same model sold directly by Maytag is out of stock. And why is the warranty as listed on Maytag's site in Spanish, not English?

Wow - that 4-year warranty shortening at Lowes is deceptive. The revised warranty sheet is in English on the Lowes website but only in Spanish at Maytag.

Probably done so Lowes could still sell their 3-year extended warranty plan on it.

So, just bought an 18 year old, 2002, Kenmore 22422100 super capacity washer, that supposedly works, for $125.00 delivered. Had to rush it while wife was distracted....looks pretty good, no one threw a fit. The "super capacity" seems
to have placated her for now. Any recommendations, if any, on replacing or checking things before I hook it up.....the guy I bought it from seemed honest, and delivered it for free, so i'm not expecting any crazy surprises.

for $125.00 delivered.

Good deal. A new Speed Queen washer would have been a grand plus tax.

The DD experts should be able to help you out. I'd run some hot washes with bleach when you get it hooked up.
