Hello

I’ve got a Maytag Commercial Washer (MVWP575GW) washer and we’ve got a coin (or coins?) that just dropped under the agitator.

I’ve gotten some of the agitator out but I’m stuck. It doesn’t seem to have the typical agitator that most maytags have.

Does anyone know how to get the agitator out? Or some other method of accessing below the agitator?

This may help...

Hi! I've had my Maytag mvwp575gw for about 3.5 years now. Maybe I can help. Around the agitator, there is a grove that coins can get stuck in that normally keeps them vertical. However, if the groove is pushed too much when trying to get the coin or object out, it can go under.

This agitator is in two pieces, and it's not so easy to see how the bottom piece comes out. Basically there are two screws and some tabs that have to be released that are on the side (so you don't really notice this when looking from the top). Then you can remove the bottom portion with a ratchet wrench, extension, and 7/16th drive socket.

Start the video at 2:15, and this might be where you are at. This video was written for the average DIY and not the people here, so you'll want to skip over the first part.

Thank you! You were right - I was stuck at 2:15 in the video. Your video helped me get the agitator off. I didn't find any coins, but there was some lint and hair that I removed.

As a bit of a laugh for you... Before I posted on this forum, I took off the lid of the washer to see if getting to the service manual would help. Check out the attached pic to see what I found written on the upper lip of the back panel. Someone must have been frustrated putting together my machine on the line

The video posted above is now listed as private. Does anyone have a link?

I have the same washing machine and I’m stuck at getting the agitator completely out.

I removed the top cup, popped the secondary piece off, removed the bolt and main agitator bit.

Here is where I’m at a loss, I removed the 2 Phillips screws and can’t see how to get the rest removed?

Apologies for the incorrect terminology.

Any help is appreciated. 8 little kids in a house during muddy springtime and the less than 1 year old Maytag Commercial is acting up…..

Sorry to post to an old thread, but I'm stuck on the same thing and it's driving me crazy! Does anyone have a link to a similar video or instructions? Thanks in advance.

Refer to picture 8. I won't be able to come back and edit this post, so hopefully they'll upload in the correct order.

I don't keep the video up because I don't have time to edit them any more to make sure the info is still correct. Honestly, I think others have better videos than I do now that the washer has been out for awhile. Here are some screenshots that will stay with this post for future reference.

Please note that I do not sell or repair appliances for a living or have special training in this area. While I try to be accurate, user assumes all risks and liabilities for using this information.

At the time of this post, I've owned the Maytag mvwp575gw for about 4.5 years in a kid/pet friendly home with no issues.

I hope you find the pictures helpful.
