My mother's gas-heated 64/65 Halo-of-Heat dryer with the aqua lower control panel had a pilot light. I am tempted to say it was a DG306, but I really don't recall all that clearly.
two heats: full-on and no heat with three timed cycles.
Normal, PP and Air-Fluff
IIRC the ones with the newer design (i.e. the same design that endured untill WP killed the Maytags off) and the gold lower control panel ('73 and later) did not have pilot lights. Can anyone verify this?

The 06 series began in 1966, so it must have been an 00 or 02 series dryer.....or your time period is off by a couple of years
There are a few members here who claim to have factory installed electronic ignition DG HOH dryers. It would be interesting to nail down the year this first occurred.....or if electronic ignition was even an option at some point in time.
You are so right! The dryer was purchased in 66/67. The WASHER was 64/65. My understanding was that the washer was about $250 which was a week's pay back then. They had to wait to be able to afford the dryer.
Thanks everyone for the input. I had been wondering if the HOH models ever changed over to electronic ignition or if it happened when they went to the bigger capacity and lint filter up front.
