That's a little funny! So what do dryers have today for baffles?

Putting it all back together....

These are my new roller shafts. Both have rust marks on them. How to clean if necessary? I didn't even look when I opened the first one.

Rusty Roller Shafts

They may be able to be polished with VERY fine sand paper etc.

 

Unless your original shafts are worn there is little point in replacing these shafts.

 

When servicing older dryers etc you should only replace parts that are bad or badly worn, the original parts are better quality than the replacements.

Thanks John! This is the shaft on the worn roller. I think it's hard to tell in the pic but it's a little concave. I'm not sure on the other one yet. Just didn't expect rust on sealed pieces.

Polishing your shaft................

use a very fine steel wool like 000 or 0000 and it should clean up. If you have a sheet of crocus cloth around use that as a final polish.
