Howdy, I have an older Maytag Dryer (Model DE 406). It heats up and works well, but the timer has stopped functioning. Are the timers still available? Is there anything I can try to get it to work again?
Dan, could the timer motor have failed? If I had a dollar for every time that has happened to me.... A replacement motor should be reasonably available still.
I can set it for a time dry, and it turns on and heats up - does everything a dryer is supposed to do - but the timer doesn't advance, so I have to use a kitchen timer.
Dan, do you have a source for a replacement? If not, please send me an email or PM on Facebook. I've learned a LOT about how to swap timer motors over the years ... LOL I know I have a spare Maytag washer timer motor, but no dryer timer motors.
