Maytag Dutch Oven Top Burner Pilots

Does anyone know how to adjust the top burner pilots and can they be turned off completely so the burners can be match lit? The pilots on mine light and stay lit. The left side burners light from the lit pilot, but the right side burners won't light from the lit pilot. I can match light the burners with or without the pilot lit, so gas is going to the burners. Any thoughts from an expert out there? Thanks.

In general, pilot lights usually adjust with a tiny screw mounted at the place where the pilot light gas tube connects to the main gas manifold of any gas stove, usually at the front of the stove, behind the main gas valves. You might have to lift/remove the top cover to see it. On my Kenmore I have adjusted the pilots down to "off" before without any problem.

As for burners not lighting via the pilot, take a look at the "flash tubes" (generally aluminum tubes/sleeves that run from the pilot light to the burner itself). They can get clogged, and result in the burner not lighting with the pilot. Also, depending on the style of the burner, there may be airway pinholes that are clogged with burned-on debris at the spot where the flash tube meets the burner.

Yes all buners can be match-lit with or without gas flowing to the pilot lights.

Take a sewing needle and clean out the tiny holes between the burner holes and the oilot tube. This will allow the gas to flow down intt the pilot tube, (whent he gas control knob is "on" and be ignited by the pilot by flashing-back the flame to ignite the burner.

And just in case it is not intuitive to ya, one must turn the burners up to high to ignite them.

Thank You both....the advice and info is very helpful. I now have 3 of the 4 burners lighting with the pilot and will keep working on it.
