maytag fabric-matic large capacity washer

I need some help here with my maytag fabric matic washer. I just had a repair man tell me that my leak I have is from the outer tub hose that goes down to the pump.Over 30 plus years the water has ate away at the outer tub where the nibble comes out for the hose. He said that there isn't anything he can do,but thought maybe some kind of marine product could maybe seal the hole. He said he couldn't do it for me. Iam hoping someone could give me a tip to fix this washer. It has been problem free for more than 30 years. not one repair needed.

Depending on the location and size of the hole, a product called POR15 might help.
