My Maytag family that is!

I thought I would take a couple shots of "the family" while they are all here. I am driving to Phoenix tomorrow and taking two of them with me, so this is the only opportunity for this!

In front we have the A50 twins, behind them from the left are the '80 806, the '75 806 (which is starting it's journey to Pennsylvania tomorrow) and the Avocado 608, which is going to NEW MEMBER "washmeup" in Scottsdale!! In back is the '80 806's mate, the 808 and the lovely A700/DE701 pair... who will be celebrating their 47th year together this December! (and they are celebrating with me... YAY!)

I thought we were missing someone!

Now here is the entire family! The 1964 wringer was trying to hide and avoid the photo! (shame, shame)

OMG, I would LOVE LOVE to have an 806...and you have all those!! I am jealous. They just cannot be found around here, and I have no truck to get one. *sigh*. At least I have vids, and MAYBE one day I will luck out. :) Thanks for the pics.

Great shot Kevin! I didn't know that an N2 had followed you home, and with a pump none-the-less! Pride is certainly evident in all machines made at the Newton plants. They really cared about what they were making, and the impression it had across the world. All is lost now....

Truly awesome! All that glorious Maytag goodness in one place...takes mah breath away, yessum!

WOW......*Passes Out*

So beautiful, beyond describable words. Too bad you can't keep them all, but it would be unfair to hog all of the fun :D

Thank you all very much!!!

QSD-Dan, I was not trying to show you up or anything, I just had to share the "family photo" while I had the opportunity!

Justin, Yes this was the primary reason to coming back to Phoenix, to pick up a set that has been waiting for me with my name on them.

Rich & Ben, I've had the Maytag wringer for a few months now. I got it home and plugged it in only to have smoke bellow from the motor after running for just 15 seconds! I was so bummed that I did not post anything about it! So now you all know that I also have the 1964 Maytag wringer (with pump) but it needs a motor!

Gary: Actually it's not the entire machine (Shhhhh!) it's only the top! (I have the matching dryer top too!) Hehehe

Christopher: It was very nice meeting you and you are very welcome! I'm happy I was able to bring a vintage Maytag into you life so you can kick that Bosch FL to the curb! (DUCKS & RUNS..... ) LOL

"QSD-Dan, I was not trying to show you up or anything, I just had to share the "family photo" while I had the opportunity! "

I certainly didn't take it that way. Not much in this world gives me a hard on more than Maytag pics :)

New Motor on the 1964 Maytag Wringer?

Kevin,

When Gary (abcomatic) and I started working on his Easy Washer/Spinner back in March, his motor started smoking immediately when we turned the machine on. I took the motor off, and brought it to my brother, who worked on these things frequently in the past. We carefully dissembled the motor - it's not that complicated. We cleaned everything up, and he used some fine sandpaper to clean up the contacts points. Re reassembled the motor, and it worked beautifully. I reinstalled the motor on the Easy, and Gary had done many loads in that machine since.

Moral of the story - I wouldn't throw the Motor out with the wash water quite yet. Have a go at just cleaning it up first. You might be surprised, and save a bundle of money.

Mike

Merry Christmas

You take one of those lighted pictures, add a little garland and a few scattered ornaments and you've got the perfect Christmas card photo...maybe with this greeting inside..."Hope this Holiday Season finds you lovin' the spin that you're in."
Pretty corny huh?
The pics are all just great!

Just Beautiful!

Kevin,

I also want to pass on another big THANK YOU for helping me start my vintage collection. Have tried to forget about the 806 as I don't know how long it will take to get it from CA to PA...THANK YOU GORDON as well! I am very excited!
