HI washer fans. I have a question. I just finished doing laundry in my Maytag automatics. While washing, the HA606's tub indexed and the A212's did not. Is this supposed to happen in the HA606 or is there something wrong with it? Thanks, Gary
My LA712 does index a slight amount depending on the load size. It's normal for Maytags to do some indexing and it doesn't hurt anything underneath. It probably will need a new brake package if it is starting to get pretty bad (IE more than 1 inch deflection). But either way, it is fine and okay, don't worry about it.
Here is a thread about indexing Maytags (it's not mine, even though though 48bencix also has a LA712.
I did a second load in my newly aquired LA 712 and the tub was indexing. The first load that I did when I first got it was pretty small, and the machine was on a level floor. There was no indexing at the time. With this larger load, the floor was not as level, tilted forward. I hope that is...
Thanks men for you help. Let me tell you more. lol, here is a confession. I usually wash in my 1964 Easy Spindrier and rinse in the Maytags. In the 606, I had the water level set to large and had a set of my king size bed sheets in them with 4 pillow cases. Lots of water and lots of sheets. I had enough water and the roll over was good, maybe with those sheets and the highest water level is enough to make the tub index? Thanks, Gary
