Someone wants it. 25 current bids. Probably bidding 50 cents each time.

These auctions don't have $0.50 bidding. It's $1, $2.50, $5.00, $10.00 and so on. See "bid increments" in auction listing.
Also unlike fleaPay many of these auctions have a "soft close". That is If someone places a bid in the last few minutes of an online auction, the end time for the specific lot is extended. This will go on until no more bids are forthcoming and hammer then comes down. Thus anyone seeking to get in with a snipe bid will find under such circumstances it does them no good.
What usually does under such circumstances is just enter highest amount am willing to bid and see what happens. If really want something that badly and am being out bid in last moments of a soft close, will go in again with a higher bid before hammer falls.
Thing is with these auctions your CC is charged within hours after hammer falls. There's none of that eBay nonpaying winning bidder nonsense. House gets their money regardless. If winning bidder does not pick-up/claim item it will be deemed forfeited, but they aren't getting their money back either.
