Here is a picture of the the original electrolytic capacitor from the electronic control of my 1967 Maytag HOH dryer. This dryer still has the "older" wire baffle sensing system and uses the "older" electronic control part #3-2472 (not the control that was used with the bar baffles which was #3-3049).
The numbers on it are: 3-1690 (which I presume is the Maytag part number)
second row: V146XR-100
I want to replace the capacitor with one that will perform as this one did when new. What should I buy?

Use a film capacitor with the same or greater microfarad rating. Film type won't fail.

You could use electrolytic. It would probably last about twenty years or so. [this post was last edited: 6/29/2011-05:01]
