Continuing with their Samsung alliance, Maytag is launching their new line of uber-sized front loading washers and dryers. Maytag claims the washer has the highest capacity of any front loader in the United States.

Both units are based on Samsung's Hauzen laundry appliance line, and I *think* units are going to be built in Mexico, if not directly imported from Asia.

Follow the link for more information.

Does the MAH2400 (the little front loader) come with a built in water heater? It says automatic water temprature control on the PDF document, but I cannot determine if that means it has a built in heater or not.

Maysung...

I wonder what this Maysung alliance means for the future of the existing Neptune front loader with no window?

The little Maysung and big Maysung look like very nice machines, and from what I have seen of Samsung front loaders in Australia, they look nicely put together, with a good range of features/price.

I wonder what Else this arrangement might bring forth?

Worked ok for me.Nicer machines than the Neptunes-the link showed the Neptune machines as well.Think these new ones outclass the Neptunes.Looks like they have drawer bases you can get too.Yes-like that they have windows-washer and dryer. The link still shows the windowless Neptunes.-both FL and TL.The TL one should have a window in the lid as well.In the TL Neptune-the window would allow you to see how the washer tangles and balls your clothes.

The old Neptunes have outlived their usefulness. What was the largest tub front load when they were introduced in 1997 is now on the smaller side. Who wants a front load without a window. I'd never trust that is is washing anything. Add to that the problems with the earlier models I would have to say it's time to go. Although lowering the price $200 may keep it going for awhile. It represents close to half the production in the Newton plant.

As for the Maytag/Samsung relationship, I know the Samsung dishwashers are 100% Maytag design.

Well, we trust dishwashers, though it would be nice to have windows in them.

We don't have a choice with dishwashers. Plus it's a little more obvious if dishes are not cleaned well. So I'll change my statement to why buy a front loader without the window when you can get one with it. I need to see it wash.

Maytaged is right

Maytag sent that refrigeration factory south of the border. Also someone mentioned Maytags underfunded pension program, I think they have Big Problems. The new Machine does look nice though. If the Neptune is 1/2 the production in Newton what else do they make there?? T/L's?

Oh yeah

Are all these new f/l's electronic? Does anyone make one with just the regular mechanical timer, like a t/l?
