I have been out of touch for about 3 years or more. We built a new home and thought I would show off my now 1 year old laundry room. After a field of machines, sorting, working, cleaning, giving away, selling some, these are what we kept and are daily drivers. Our new home is small and VERY EASY to keep clean and in order. I now keep a log (because I have time too!) since these were all restored (some again) from the ground up on how many loads we are doing. We mark off the spread sheet every time we do one. Crazy I know, but hey, I always wondered. On the A608's we are on load number 109. On the MAH4000AWW's we are on load number 573. For those of you who will ask about install date, here goes. A608 - 02/28/2011. MAH4000 03/22/2011. Make a bet which machines will outlast the other!!!!! Bet I know.

Nice Laundry Room!

What a nice laundry room!
There is much to be said for ease of cleaning a smaller space too - all that new found time.
I must say, I like the idea of a spread sheet......got me thinking.....
Enjoy!

Steve - good to see you posting again! Nice sets of daily drivers, if I say so myself.

I've never thought about tracking laundry loads - interesting idea! Not surprised to see the Neptune is getting more use than the center dial by almost 5 to 1. My Neptune sees similar use.

Steve, I was literally thinking about y'all last weekend, wondering if y'all were ok, how you've survived the economy, and if you'd ever return. Very nice laundry room. I particularly like that stained glass fixture above the two sets of machines. Hmm, I seem to have one just like it.

Wow

Excellent lookings Maytags. I'm sure the Neptunes are nice, my only gripe with these machines is that I could never own a FL w/out a window!

"I now keep a log (because I have time too!) since these were all restored (some again) from the ground up on how many loads we are doing. We mark off the spread sheet every time we do one. Crazy I know, but hey, I always wondered"

I did this with my unimatic, tallied about 50 loads before the timer gave out.

Absolutely B E A U T I F U L!!!!!!..........

a clean look setup.......

how much space is behind the machines, or rather how far away from the wall?......I did a setup like this, and added a hidden shelf behind the machines, even with the top(not control panel), one, to stop anything from falling back there....and two, it held bottles of detergent, bleach, and softner, plus a few jars for coins, items found in pockets, clothes pins......could come in handy

@lebron----that can always be changed/added....just because it didn't come with a window, doesn't mean you can't add one.....

I've see it in a Neptune dryer. Pics please of a Neptune washer with a window

Welcome back!

Really good to hear from you again, Steve!!  A very nice laundry room, are these your only machines or are there a couple hiding in the garage?  :-)

A new home.  That means we'll want to see some pics of the kitchen and the rest, too.  Knowing your talent for construction and detail, I'll bet it's all beautiful.

A Demo window for now, just need to add plexiglas.....and copy onto the dryers door for a match.....add a piece of auto door edge guard to cover the cut edges for a clean look, and I am all set......

Nice!

Steve,
So good to see you posting again!
Your laundry room looks awesome!
Love the colors!
I just can't get over the fact that you don't have a vintage pair of GE's!!!!

.

Great looking laundry room Steve! Can't wait to see the rest of your new home. I would place my bet with the old centre dial set lasting the longest.

We have the same set in our rental house. There are two adults and a seven year old child living there, with another on the way. The tenant does laundry almost constantly! I have never been over there, that the washer or dryer wasn't running. The only thing I've had to do was to clean and lube the dryer motor about 18 months ago. As they used to say, "Now, thats a Maytag for you" (something like that anyway) Welcome back!

All the nice comments and answer to questions

Yogi - 4", just enough for the dryer hose.

gansky - No more machines. This is it. Have been tempted, but the last one I let go was to you my dear the flawless 1-18. I will post pictures of our stuff/small pad on super later today or tomorrow. Thanks for all the nice comments.

Spankomatic - Yes, there is a difference in the dryers. The DE608 is quiter. The MDE4000 has a lot more options. Drying clothes is so easy with both machines. They both work very well. No favorite there. Use the neptune more however.

A440 - I could just s..p you about GE. You know how I feel on those upside down chrylser lebarrons from the 70's and 80's.

rickr - yep me too. The A608 outlasted the last brand new set we bought. HE3T, but did sell them with the house.

Thanks so much folks for all the nice comments about the laundry room and me posting this. I always did lurke, just did not post, and nothing personal etc. just got busy otherwise. Sometimes a hobby needs a break too. We had back to back deaths in the family over the last 3 years, health issues, property's to deal with. I am settling down now! So thought it was a good time to say hey.

Glad you did,Steve. I have always loved your input and humor. I remember the "Jet Cone Dance" too!

BTW: Do you still have your restored Rollermatic? I have two of them now. They are a royal PAIN to work on...
