Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Interesting thought......and of course there will always be a supply around for a while of used ones.....but what about over time, when it does all run out.....what are the Amish gonna do without this availability of a wringer machine.....which would be changed over to a gasoline engine....

they do puzzle me sometimes, and I have been to the farms and tours, one question they could never answer is about the use of electricity, they forbid it, everything is either gas or propane powered, and yet, they have no problem building things like these fireplace mantels, with the electric fireplace included...

they sell something they would not use or test themselves.....exploit it and make a profit off of it is OK, but otherwise not!....something doesn't seem right about it all......

and if I have a wringer for sale, and an Amish person wishes to buy it, should the price be increased 3 times, as they do for product and services they provide, versus anyone else....

I know this is all off key for this thread, but makes you wonder...

You should sell it for what you think it's worth.

As for the Amish, there are different sects that believe differently. Some of the ones in PA have different standards than say the ones in Northern Indiana. Some Amish are strictly forbidden to work with the English, strictly forbidden to use modern conveniences, required to stay on the farm, etc. The ones around here have regular jobs in RV factories, have phones (in a shed at the end of the driveway), etc.

My Amish friends who own their own business sell all kinds of things that the Amish use. They don't triple their prices to the Amish or English. They have about 150 Maytag Wringer units awaiting restoration for anyone Amish or English. They also buy from anyone interested in selling a unit to them to replenish their stock. They are concerned about running out of stock of course. As stated above there are many sects of the Amish. They are all different in one way or another. My friends do not use electric but rather gas and pneumatics in their lives. I have heard that some Amish sects are a bit on the English side when it comes to what they will use in their daily living. I have not met them. My experience with my Amish friends has always been good. They are very clean with well maintained homes and manicured lawns. I look upon them very favorably as I would any other friend.
