Maytag Model A210 replacement tub needed

Hi - I have an A210 in incredible condition, but just learned that the tub has rusted through due to years in my Dad's basement before he had a dehumidifier.

I'm curious whether anyone on this forum happens to know of a source for a replacement tub, as it breaks my heart to let this machine go with all its other features working perfectly.

There are methods to fix rust-throughs depending on the location and severity.  Search old posts, or perhaps others will respond with technique recommendations.  Photos of your situation would help lead the responses.

The only source at this point for a replacement tub is a transplant from a donor machine that may have a viable outer tub but is otherwise itself not worth restoring.

Easiest solution to get a working machine is just find a vintage Maytag on Facebook market place or Craigslist.

They are available, most are later orbital trans machines however which is not necessary a bad thing if it has the Load-Sense agitator and many are in excellent condition considering they stopped building them in 2006.

Pre-1989 machines are out there too but you may have to widen your search area.

Remove the front panel and take a look at the interior. The whole machine may be a gigantic rust bucket if moisture caused the outer tub to rust through.

I'll echo what gsd-dan said. Pull that front cover and inspect. I recently had to scrap an A806 that was given to me that was in a damp basement near a shower stall all its life. It didnt look too bad outside but once I removed the cover it was filled with rust scale and corrosion everywhere. Water or dampness is pure hell on these after 40+ years.
