Having a problem with my Maytag portable dish washer that I picked up last year. It seems the timer no longer advances through the cycles. It just stays in place. I can her it working but it doesn't advance. I have looked online for a replacement but being 38 years old I knew I wouldn't be able to order a replacement. Any ideas??

The kingston Timer Motor Failure

This is very common on all Kingston timers when they either get a little age or some use on them. I could never figure why MT, Norge and Frigidaire used these troublesome timers. Even back in the day when these machines were fairly new they always had more than their share of trouble with Kingston timers, thank goodness that Whirlpool, Kenmore and GE did not use these timers on their appliances.

Good news is that replacement timer motors can still often be found and I think that some have even found a way to replace the cheap plastic part that breaks inside the motor.

Thank you everyone for your help

I did find the round timer on a couple of websites but I'm ordering the part referenced by Dan. Considering that I'm keeping the Maytag dishwasher indefinitely, it wouldn't hurt to have it.
