Maytag N2L: Getting the old threaded discharge head onto a new hose.

I have a mid 50s Maytag N2L wringer washer with an ancient drain hose that's about to blow out on me from age. I'd like to know if there's a trick to removing the original threaded drain head from the old hose and attaching it to a new one.

There are replacement hoses available on eBay, but the discharge is missing the thread, which I happen to need.

There shouldn't be. I'm assuming you're talking about the "hook" or "goose neck" that attaches to the white threaded coupler on the drain hose end? If you can unscrew it off it's current hose it should just screw onto the new one. Like all spray nozzles hook up to all garden hoses.

Thanks, but it's the actually hook-head itself. I'm looking to remove it from the old hose and perminenently attach it to a new one. I'm asking if there's a hidden internal piece like a compression fitting that locks the hook-head onto the hose. It can't just be glue, they hold so well after all these years.

The end you have-

on yours is for the gravity drain. Nothing is supposed to thread into it so there are no threads. It's also at an angle to go to a floor drain. The pump model hoses have a different connector on the end. It's white but no angle. It's straight and you thread the hook onto it. Then the hook part goes over the sink or tub and stays in place. If you order a new hose from Phil and specify it's for a pump model, it will be the correct length and have the right connection on the end for the threaded drain hook.
That should solve your problem.

Hose end----

I removed one of those hose ends and it was just glued on. The rubber and glue were so hard I had to cut the hose off then dig out the remaining hose with a small screw driver.
