About a year ago I collected an early model front load Neptune. After a used water pump and a tip from you guys, it’s been running fine. A couple of days ago my wife asked what that cable she found in the wash was. I didn’t recognize it but lots of things get stuck in my pockets. A little later, she asked what that funny looking gray rubber thing she washed was. That I knew, and when I looked at the machine it was missing the door boot. The pieces aren’t damaged and replacing them isn’t hard but it is a nuisance. The spring is missing and I’m considering replacing it with a small ring clamp. What surprised me was that she ran a couple more loads, after she found the parts, without problem. I would have expected a major flood but the floor was dry. What would have dislodged the boot and how did the water stay in the machine while it was being washed? I will squeeze the repair between crisis 2 and 3 report the results. Tom
