Suds model? 806? 808? The dryer doesn't have lights. slight mis-match

The washer is a 1973 model A806S and it's paired with a DE608 dryer which is a few years newer.
My regular A806 from 1972 was also originally paired with a non-matching DE-606 which was bought at the same time. I'm wondering how much the original owners saved by not selecting the matching one with the extra lights! I got the washer with the instruction manuals for both machines, the laundering guide and the sales brochure but the dryer itself was gone!
I can see added notes in the sales brochure showing that they paid the washer $359.95 and the dryer $249.95 for a total of $609.90.

People often bought the 806 washer to have the independent speed selections for agitation and spin. Since the only difference between the 806 and 606 dryer was the panel light, some did not care about the matched control panels; strictly sans panache.

I'd need a dozen hands to count all the Maytag washers I saw as a kid, but only one to count the Maytag dryers, and only a couple of those matched the washers they were paired with.
The desire for a "matched" set didn't seem a driver of sales the way it has become now.

15 buttons
I think I understand the first bank of switches--
4 temps then 2 suds buttons.
But the second bank----4 buttons for individually choosing wash speed versus spin speed-----but what is button 5 for?
I don't think I have EVER seen 15 buttons on a Maytag.
This one has it all!

If 4 of the 6 the buttons on the left are the same as those on the regular A806 (they should be!), they are those for the agitation speed and spin speed (and the two others should be for suds return on and off I guess).
The 5 buttons on the right are those for the wash and rinse temps.
Here is what the regular A806 buttons looked-like when they were new!

Here's mine
You can't really see it on this picture but the dial has clear plastic over what's printed on the white background to protect it. Some lesser models lack that.
